!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of Chrysler’s effort to take the oft-maligned Stratus and turn it into a successful racer. It’s a good introspective into the innovation and forward thinking that made Chrysler so great in the 90’s.

I’m a big fan of the Stratus touring car. Sadly they didn’t use it for European race series’ as those retained their popularity and they still exist. I’m not sure if it would have been legal in those times as it had specially modified body.

I was even thinking about stashing one (Chrysler) Stratus with rust free body and build a replica if I run out of other projects (a bit unlikely). I’m already building a street legal Opel Vectra-A touring car replica but it has been paused for a while because I haven’t found certain parts.

they rusted badly, and they proved to have mediocre long-term durability, but my experience with the cloud cars was quite pleasant, actually. Good chassis dynamics, spunky (if unrefined) engines, comfortable and spacious interior, not bad looking at all, and inexpensive to buy. A buddy of mine had a rare 2.4 sport with manual trans. It was an enjoyable and entertaining car for the first 80,000 miles of its life... Then it sort of started falling apart... But it was the sort of death that made you sad to see it go, not glad to be rid of it.

They’re often stated as being very boring and I’ve heard stories about typical Chrysler lack of long term build quality.

These wheels are awesome. The 90s style 3-color paint scheme is also pretty awesome.
